Casting Venue

The Club's casting pond is located just off the high side of Henry Lawson Drive at Lansdowne approximately 1km from the Hume Highway Intersection or almost opposite the turn-off to what used to be Barnaby's Restaurant.  The freshwater pond forms a part of the Mirambeena State Recreation Area.  The pond is accessed from the lay-by, 50 metres along a dirt road which heads up a small hill on the Bankstown side (high side).

The casting pond is shown here on the map.  It is just below the word "Lansdowne".

The pond is in a picturesque location abundant in bird-life, including Black Swans, Brown Ducks and various other water fowl.  It's a great place to learn.

Casting Activities

Wet, Dry and Skish casting events are played out to international rules.  All scores are recorded.  Members can use these scores to also take part in an "in-house" casting competition with the view to improve on their own scores over the year and hopefully win a prize for the "most improved".

Club Casting Days

Usually the Saturday after the first Wednesday of each month (after each club General Meeting).  Casting days are not held during the summer months of December, January and February because of Xmas, School holidays and heat.

Casting Practice

Starts at 1:30 pm and usually goes till about 4:30 pm.
